Baptism of a King

King Haja*, a Madagascan tribal king, embraced Christianity one year ago after being introduced to the gospel by a CV pioneer. Along with his family, King Haja became a regular attendee at church services every Sunday, committed to growing in his faith.

Despite being born into royalty, King Haja has faced unique challenges since becoming a follower of Jesus. His kingdom is overseen by a group of other kings who continue to practise animism and engage in traditional rituals.

King Haja’s refusal to participate in these rituals, and his commitment to not issuing any commands against Christian teachings, have created tensions among the other rulers.

However, King Haja is not afraid or deterred by the animosity, and he remains steadfast in his beliefs.

A year after dedicating his life to Jesus, King Haja felt a calling to be baptised. Starting the year with a new life, King Haja was baptised by a CV pioneer. Afterwards, he was filled with elation and joy.

Even though he is a king, he is a devoted servant to the true King – Jesus.
