Sarah* is a yesHEis app user and she reached out to us through the chat feature, saying: “Hi! How’s it going? I’m a Christian but I’ve just been struggling a lot lately…”

After some conversation back and forth, it became apparent that Sarah had not felt comfortable to let people at her church know that she was struggling. I encouraged her by sharing a blog on how to stay close to Jesus.

Sarah realised that she needed to re-commit to follow Jesus and make Him her boss. I sent her a prayer to help with this, and have been encouraging her to open up to others. Since that time she has started to connect with God and people at church more.

She has also joined a church group that is studying a particular Bible passage recognising that Jesus has authority over evil spirits. This is a new experience for Sarah. She has also had a conversation about faith with one of her friends.

While I was at her church for a recent conference, I was able to connect Sarah with a mentor via her church pastor. The conference was focussed on reaching Australia for Jesus, and Sarah’s experience gave an opportunity to demonstrate to the church the opportunities available to reach people online.

I have discovered that many Christians who are yesHEis app users are struggling in their personal journeys with Jesus and lack the necessary help, discipleship or understanding to grow in their personal walk with God. Thankfully, we are often able to come alongside people to give those little pushes of encouragement that are needed in season.
