The Lifesaver Reaching Inmates: Africa

The Lifesaver, a short film about the true-life redemption story of one of Cape Town’s most notorious ex-convicts, offers a unique opportunity to reach out to inmates in various African countries.

When Vuyo was a little boy, he dreamt of being a lifesaver. But as a young adult his life took a turn for the worse and he ended up behind bars because of his involvement in a series of high-scale robberies. But Vuyo ultimately found Jesus, and soon became a different kind of lifesaver: he started preaching the Gospel to inmates.

This unique real-life story forms the basis for the new short film, The Lifesaver, produced by CV Africa for release in various prisons in the region and for use on yesHEis. We were privileged to be able to film this roller-coaster testimony as part of an all-hands-on-deck project that stretched our team and inspired us to break new creative ground. This short film will be released in various prisons in several African countries through partnerships with prisons ministries, and we pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare the hearts of the inmates who watch it. A shorter version will also be released on yesHEis, and we ‘re hoping that this will make a particular impact in many of our communities where gangsterism and violent crime is a daily reality.

Pray that this short film will reach many inmates and impact communities ravaged by gangsterism with the Gospel of Christ. Also pray for prison ministry partners as they use this video to reach those in jail.
