A recent field trip by our National Pioneers Initiative (NPI) coordinators in Madagascar, revealed that nine out of the ten new churches planted are now self-sustaining.

Three of these churches now also have pastoral replacements, allowing the original pioneer to carry on, just like Paul the Apostle, with their pioneering work elsewhere, breathing new life into even more communities with the message of Jesus.

Spiritual sustainability is a core principle of the NPI, which is a uniquely effective system of empowering indigenous mission workers to build self-sustaining churches using local elder leadership.

Despite the trials and tribulations of traversing the rural Madagascan terrain, our NPI pioneers remain committed to the mission. Let us pray for the continued guidance and safety of our field pioneers, and for churches to embrace the new so they may continue to grow.
