COLLABORATION WINS

The results are in. In-house collaboration between global CV teams is a powerful tool in our quest to Touch-A-Billion people with the message of Jesus.

Three CV Asia Pacific offices each contributed a team recently, to test whether a regional effort focusing on an identical topic (in this case either enlightenment or sacrifice) could be beneficial to introducing more people to Jesus.

We chose the season of Vesakh, an important feast in Buddhism that commemorates the main events in the life of Buddha, and six countries in the region that we would focus our digital evangelism efforts upon.

To begin, each team wrote a script in their own language and had it translated into English. An original video, ranging from 30-45 seconds in duration, was then created.

Scripts were then swapped between country teams and translated accordingly allowing us to upload multiple translations per video. We created 42 individual videos using this method.

The videos were used in Facebook ads across the six countries for 16 days and connection was initiated by the audience via Messenger.

Here is the data we collected:

  • Our combined videos recorded 7,174,742 engagements, and were shared by 3,219 viewers;
  • A total of 1,316,132 Introductions to Jesus were recorded with 44% of these introductions coming from the 25-34 age group;
  • Almost 100% of views were accessed via mobile phone, and 159,306 viewers clicked on one of our video ads to find out more.

What did we learn?

Each of the teams collaborating on this campaign expressed their appreciation for the opportunity.

All teams agreed that excitement was plentiful during this project. The sharing of video assets, coordination, and writing scripts together made for a very rewarding exercise that allowed not only for more introductions to Jesus but illuminated the generous culture that is within CV.
