Every month, thousands of people visit our 1Africa platform, which exists to share the Gospel with non-Christians through regular blog posts. One of the greatest privileges of working through this platform is the opportunity to lead people to Christ, and this has been the case once again in August.
Earlier this month, one visitor to the site, based in Ghana, viewed a Gospel presentation at the end of a blog post and responded with the following: “I wish to be a born again Christian. I want to serve God through His son, Jesus Christ.” This opened the door for a conversation with one of our team members, who was able to share the Gospel and ultimately lead the respondent in the sinner’s prayer.
A response followed: “Thank you very much – I have said the prayer!” The respondent also followed up with questions about growing in her faith: “Please, how do I read the Bible and get understanding? [I am] currently reading the book of Psalms and I find it difficult to understand.”
It remains one of our greatest joys to see lives transformed by the Gospel!
To help our church partners reach more people with the Good News, we recently began rolling out the CV Outreach initiative in South Africa. CV Outreach enables our church partners to promote Gospel-themed website landing pages, thanks to advertising grants made available by Google. The response to this project has been very encouraging. With our first three church partners alone, we have seen 5,200 visits to these Gospel pages, with 98 people responding to us in writing in August alone. In the words of one respondent: “I want a change in my life – I want to live a new life and know more about God!” Responses like these encourage us to work even harder to share the Good News of Jesus with more people!
Please pray for young Christians across the continent of Africa who come to faith through encounters with our platforms and content. These new Christians are often isolated or in rural areas, and struggle to find vibrant church communities where they can be planted and grow. Pray that God would gather strong communities around these young Christians, to help them grow in faith and spiritual maturity.
