Setting Young People Free From Pornography Addiction : Middle East

Since the beginning of 2017, we have been focusing on tackling existing problems that prevent youth from maintaining a relationship with God. During May and June, we talked about pornography and sexual addiction. This is such a huge problem in the Middle East that no one discusses because of the conservative culture of the region. Many people who fall into pornography can’t recover and never tell anyone about it. This secrecy makes it worse over time and fills people with shame so that they gradually lose their faith.

We began to produce video content that talks about the addiction, and we partnered with another ministry that can help in the recovery. Knowing the cultural obstacles in discussing such an issue openly, we had no idea how people would react. Unexpectedly, people opened up quickly, from different backgrounds and different Arabic speaking countries. They started to share their problems, the shame they are feeling, and how it affects them badly in their relationship with God. We received around 600 private messages in two months from people who suffer from the addiction and other problems related to the cause of the addiction. More than 150 people filled in applications for further counselling sessions!

The harvest is more than we expected, and it is evident that God wants to use our team to break the fear of exposing shame inside our youth.

We ask for your prayers of support for the team that produces videos, as well as the response team that deal with people daily, and the counsellors who handle the recovery journey.
