Restored Identity: Middle East

Suha*, a young Arab woman, has been dealing with the fear of getting close to anyone. She was scared of losing people she loves, and scared to be in a relationship because she couldn’t trust anyone. She has been hurt so many times by people who were supposed to be her family and friends, but they all let her down.

Through Sharek Online we have been working on a relationships theme: how our relationship with God can change the way we deal with people, and how He can change the way we look at ourselves if we are hurt from having unhealthy relationships.

One of the videos we posted was a testimony by Miss Egypt, who is a Christian who suffered all her life from abusive relationships. She has always struggled with her self-esteem and value. In the video she shared about how Jesus changed her life, the way she dealt with people, and the way she looked at herself. The video reached hundreds of young Arabs, who got in touch with us and were able to talk about similar problems. Suha was one of them.

Suha was thrilled to find someone she could talk to because she had nobody else. She felt free to open up, expose her inner wounds and reach for help. We answered her questions regarding relationships and gave her advice on how to face hard situations.

Please pray for young people across the Middle East who are hurt and lonely. Pray that they would encounter the healing love of God.
