Almost two years ago, we received a message from Nastya* in the Ukraine, who wrote us saying that she wanted to commit suicide. Our correspondence lasted for about a year and a half, and then Nastya went silent. After almost two years, she recently wrote us again. Here is what she said:

“You can’t even imagine what happened to me. I hope that this will be a testimony of God’s grace and of His work in my life. God is alive! Now I know that He loves me so much, just like I love you. I am absolutely sure now that He sent you into my life. And it is thanks to your prayers that, in a miraculous way, I appeared in a Christian rehabilitation centre that was 2000 miles from my home. I finished the program although, frankly speaking, it was very difficult for me. Then I studied at the Bible School in Moscow. After I successfully graduated and finished my practice there, I started my ministry at the rehab centre. I help other people who got into the same life situations as I did. I preach the Gospel and work. My entire life has radically changed and I have become a completely different person. I love to live and serve other people. I found joy. I have many brothers and sisters in Christ. I am not alone anymore as I used to be.

I read through our past letters and cried. To be honest I forgot about it, but the Holy Spirit reminded me of you. It is now that I realize the huge power of prayer when we stand for another person’s salvation before God. I believe if not for you, I could have died. It is true that God intervened and sent you into my life. It is such a testimony of the work of the Holy Spirit.

I am fine now, but if you told me two years ago that such a thing could happen in my life, I wouldn’t have believed it! God saved me from all my addictions and gave me joy and peace, which I ‘ve never had before.

Thank you so much for your ministry. It is so important for the people who don’t have anyone to turn to in the crucial periods of their lives.”
