In Your Atmosphere : East Timor

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.“.

The following is a testimony from the field in East Timor in regards to a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit:

“God reminded me something just the other day, something we all tend to forget: we should not try do the work of God with our own strength. Stress, fatigue, and underwhelming results are just some of what we ‘ll experience if we rely on ourselves alone.

He is always there for us; He provides abundant power and we are promised that power once the Holy Spirit is upon us. Sadly though, it isn’t uncommon to start doing the work with our own strength, or at least thinking that is our own. The difference can become clear later on however.

But we saw God’s power first-hand when 65 youth attended our second event this year in the town of Aileu, Timor Leste. God poured out His power in a manner so incredible, I had yet to witness such power in so long, a few years actually. It was praise & worship time, we were all singing and pouring our hearts out to Him.

All of a sudden, there was a change in atmosphere.

The worship leader was completely overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit. She cried out loud with joy in the presence of the Lord, along with all the other musicians and singers. It was amazing.

The singing grew louder and the message grew clearer. I was so grateful to be in such an atmosphere; definitely not something you see everyday. I thanked Him over and over for such a wonderful pouring out amongst the youth, amongst those who will make a difference and be His vessels in the future.

We needed this empowerment; we needed His empowerment, without which our testimonies and plans would be useless.”
