There are more and more Chinese students choosing to study abroad in recent years. Many of them suffer with depression as a result of the loneliness of living in another country, the heavy academic stress, and the big expectations from their parents.

Grace is a Chinese student who undertook her master’s degree in England. She was extremely disappointed and upset at herself because she didn’t pass the graduation. What’s worse, after coming back to China to work for a little while, she was dismissed from her job. She is a Christian, but these tragedies made her lose her faith in God. She became depressed and began to withdraw from her relationships.

One day, Grace watched a Gospel video in Mini Program, which was posted by yesHEis. She left us a message, telling us about the pain she carries all the time in her heart.

We answered Grace’s questions and told her that Jesus is the one who saves and heals, that what she needs to do is turn back to Him. We also shared more videos with her from the WeChat platform of yesHEis, and introduced her to some spiritual lectures that assist in the healing of depression.

After the introduction to Jesus and the encouragement and comfort from yesHEis, Grace’s faith toward God has now started to recover. She is willing to go back to God, and continues to go to church. What’s more, she has begun to open her heart and ask for healing in Jesus.
