Freedom and Truth: China

In China, many young people study Buddhism hoping to find truth; however, their life does not often change and, instead of finding relief, they become very confused.

Li* is one young man who was studying Buddhism with great fervor, and even divorced his wife for the sake of concentrating on Buddhist philosophy. But what he experienced, saw and heard in the process of practicing Buddhism brought him great pain. He was steeped in corruption, facing the consequences of separating from his wife and son, and feeling exhausted physically and mentally.

When he watched the testimony video of Nike Vujicic on yesHEis Weibo, and read an article from the Chinese Christian Faces series, Li wanted to know more about Christianity. The Chinese Christian Faces article was a story of Yang Hua, who was a Buddhist when she met Jesus. Li reached out to our team and confessed that he couldn’t afford any more torment and failure in the pursuit of Buddhism, which had given him too much pain. Our colleague prayed for Li, communicated with him, and introduced him to Yang Hua.

Li told us that the videos and articles from yesHEis Weibo were fashionable, which changed his prejudice toward Christianity. He had thought that only those who were old and with no knowledge would believe in Jesus. After his reading and communication with us, he started to think again about the value and meaning of life.

Our team led Li in a salvation prayer, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his life saviour. He now attends a local church and no longer feels hopeless.

Please pray for Li, that he will find freedom and love in the grace of God, and that he can repair the broken relationship with his family. Pray also that God will use yesHEis to let more young adults come to know Him, find faith and truth, and start a new life.
